Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Verne Weisberg Says That Rhinoplasty Can Correct Flaws and Rescue a Person’s Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem

Portland, ME, September 9, 2014: Owner and Founder of The Plastic Surgery Center, Dr. Verne Weisberg posted a new article on his website entitled, “Saving Face: Rhinoplasty To The Rescue.”  While it is not typically considered a life-threatening surgery, rhinoplasty is truly a life changing procedure. If the surgery is not accessible during the teenage years, a person may develop issues that stem from lack of confidence.

Dr. Weinberg says, “It doesn’t take long for a teenager to feel embarrassed and humiliated by their most dominating facial feature if they don’t like their nose. What may seem to a parent or friend to be a charming and distinctive characteristic can wreak havoc on self-esteem and confidence.”

Weinberg recommends rhinoplasty as early as possible, but not before the nose is fully developed. According to Weinberg a girl’s nose is generally fully developed at around 16, while a boy’s nose can take until 18 to become fully-grown.

Today’s cosmetic surgeons have access to 3D imaging computers that show a person what size and shape nose works best on their face. . According to Dr. Weinberg, “In the hands of a fine surgeon, rhinoplasty can be so subtle and aesthetically pleasing that most people will not be aware of the correction to the nose. In addition, he states that, “When searching for a qualified surgeon, be sure to take into consideration whether there are particular ethnic characteristics that you want to preserve.”

“Rhinoplasty”, says Dr. Weinberg, “has enhanced the self-worth of millions of people over the years. Continuous advancement in medical techniques has made cosmetic rhinoplasty procedures virtually painless while the payoff is absolutely priceless.”
