Co-Founder of Red Feather Financial, Dr. Sabrina Scott Writes About The Rising Costs Of Higher Education And The Need To Begin Saving As Soon As Possible

Dr. Sabrina Scott explores the basics of saving for college expenses in which she acknowledges multiple factors to take into consideration and the complexity of the topic.

DECATUR, GA, October 4, 2019: Dr. Sabrina Scott, co-founder of Red Feather Financial, has posted a new article on the firm’s website entitled “ABC’s Of Planning For College Expenses,” in which Dr. Scott suggests meeting with a comprehensive financial planner for help.

Sabrina ScottDr. Scott writes, “It’s not a figment of your imagination: The cost of a college education continues to rise, outpacing the rate of inflation, and is becoming beyond the reach of most people. That is,” she adds, “unless they have planned early on. You simply cannot start planning for a child’s higher education expenses too soon.”

“For people starting a college savings plan today,” says Dr. Scott, “questions arise as to the best way to save. For such an important and long-term goal, it pays to do some research. “She emphasizes, “An even better idea is to meet with a financial planner no matter where you are in the planning process, meaning getting an early or late start.”

According to Dr. Scott, “As with so many important decisions, there are many factors to consider when selecting a college savings plan.” She elaborates, “Individual factors must be considered such as time horizon, risk tolerance, investment preferences and tax situation. In addition, special consideration needs to be given to who will actually own the college funds since this decision is likely to impact the availability of financial aid in the future.”
