Founder and CEO of Auer Tax Group, author and Premier Tax Expert, David Auer, joins the IRS in cautioning taxpayers about identity theft and massive telephone fraud scams.

Tulsa, OK – February 16, 2016 – David Auer, recognized Premier Tax Expert and Founder/CEO of Auer Tax Group posted a new blog on the company website entitled “This Tax Season, Protect Your Data and Be Alert to Telephone Fraud Scam.” Tax season is unnerving enough without the added stress of identity theft and phone scams about which Mr. Auer is helping educate his readers to the dangers of both.

Auer writes, “The IRS is doing its part to help protect taxpayers from becoming the victim of identity theft. In November, the IRS has launched a new campaign to encourage you to protect your tax and financial data, both digital and paper.” He continued adding, “As part of the campaign, they also released videos and consumer friendly tax tips that can be watched on YouTube (www.youtube.com/user/irsvideos). The campaign will continue through April.”

According to Auer, “This is not a matter to be taken lightly by anyone. Since October 2013 TIGTA received reports of nearly 900,000 contacts by scammers with over 5,000 falling victim.”
