The new book is a collaborative effort and passion shared by women who come from seven countries with a myriad of backgrounds, ethnicities, professions, and spiritual beliefs. These exceptional women share their voyage to love with you by breaking their painful silence, claiming the good, the bad, the light and the shadows of their lives, and teaching you how to pave new paths of happiness, freedom, and female solidarity together. In addition to de Waal’s expertise, the publication features content from spiritual leader, Billur Suu. The book will be released under the CelebrityPress® LLC imprint, a leading business book publisher that publishes books from ThoughtLeaders® around the world.

The Road to Happiness is tentatively scheduled for release in Fall 2018.

A portion of the royalties earned from The Road to Happiness will be donated to Entrepreneur’s International Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating awareness for charitable causes.

Laura de Waal was selected to be in the book because she has found inspiration, light, meaning, and hope, and has resolved to live her life as a wise woman. Her expertise in the design industry makes her an asset to the publication and will surely benefit a wide range of readers.

About Laura de Waal:

Laura de Waal is a designer who works from her heart. She has a passion for animal welfare that influences her personal and professional lives: she is an adopted animal parent, a vegan and uses only vegan materials in her designs.  Laura is an entrepreneur, designer, feminist, author, humanitarian, travel enthusiast, bisexual, LGBTQ ally, artist and animal rights supporter.

Laura also has a passion of working to support under-privileged women and children, and today has incorporated that vital mission into her business as well.

In her late teens, Laura taught an art class for blind and special needs children.  Then in college she co-taught an afterschool Art program for underprivileged elementary and middle school students.  Laura also volunteered with a dog rescue while in college, fostering and finding homes for abandoned dogs.  Laura has a BFA from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston where she studied Fine Art and Gender Studies.

In her twenties, Laura focused on her fine art and shared her work in several galleries and universities.  She became the tour booker and a member of Leslie and the Lys, an art centric all female performance band that toured the US and Europe.  The band was showcased on MTV’s TRL show, Yo Gabba Gabba, The Dr. Demento show, Tom Green’s House Tonight show and VH1 to name a few.  Laura left the band after several years to work in the retail world.  She worked her way from Product development Intern to Assistant buyer to Design assistant for a women’s clothing brand and later she designed children’s clothing and accessories for another brand.

Laura felt something was missing from her work and returned again to the non-profit world.  She worked in Philadelphia as an executive assistant for a program whose mission was to provide a supportive and safe space via after school programs and a summer camp for children of non-traditional families, mostly in the LGBTQ community.   Working back and forth between the non-profit and retail world, Laura wanted to combine her passions and embrace her creative spirit by founding and creating her own company and brand that would promote her ethics.

Laura de Waal is the founder of Conscientious Trends and designer behind VEGGANI handbags.   VEGGANI is a vegan handbag brand that believes in the protection of people, animals and the planet.  VEGGANI works with and empowers artisans, incorporates recycled materials when possible and is always made from cruelty free vegan materials.

Laura was born in Switzerland to an American mother and a Dutch father.  Much of her childhood was in Belgium with summers spent in Alabama.  Today she lives with her fiancée and adopted dog in Philadelphia.
