(Gaithersburg, MD) Delray, FL May 12, 2020: Mindy Felinton, founder of Felinton Elder Law & Estate Planning Centers, has posted a new blog on her law firm’s website entitled What Happens To Your Retirement Savings When The Unexpected Happens.” Ms. Felinton acknowledges that no one knows what the unexpected will be, but does know that having a plan in place makes the unexpected easier to face and navigate.

Mindy FelintonFelinton writes, “Most adults who work and save for retirement have a vision, a dream, an idea of what their retirement years will look like” She continues, elaborating, “Everyone’s dreams are different. Some include travel to foreign lands, while others are filled with the idea of being able to play golf and tennis every day. Still others may simply be about spending time with grandchildren and family.” “Whatever your retirement dreams look like,” says Felinton, “it’s a good idea to be prepared for the unexpected.”

As Felinton points out, “Truth is no one knows how life is going to unfold.” She emphasizes, “This current COVID19 pandemic is proof of that.” According to Felinton, “Most of us regular people didn’t see this coming. We didn’t anticipate the wild swing in the stock market or the enormous death toll. I doubt that anyone could have anticipated the entire country being in a lockdown.” As she reminds readers there is, “No travel, no golf, no tennis, no socializing of any kind. There are grandparents who haven’t been able to see and hold their grandchildren for two full months.”

About Mindy Felinton

From a young age, Mindy wanted to be the voice that would make an impact in people’s lives.   She became an attorney and has practiced law for over 30 years, so that she could fulfill her desire to help others.  As a special prosecutor, Mindy defended the underdog (literally) in cases of animal abuse.  As a state attorney in Florida she fought for justice. During the last 25 years, Mindy met many wonderful people who did not know their rights, did not understand the law, and did not know what options were available. She made a decision to focus her practice on Elder Law, Medicaid, Veterans’ benefits, and Estate Planning.  Thus she is able to guide her clients through those difficult and sometimes overwhelming processes.
