Fitness Expert Marissa Herring Featured in Women’s Fitness Magazine

Marissa Herring is currently being featured in Women’s Fitness magazine as a World Fitness Elite Game Changer.

Orlando, FL – August 29, 2014 – Marissa Herring, IFPA CPT, Owner of Garage Mama Fitness and a Tri-Fitness Challenge Champion, is currently being seen in the August 2014 Edition of Women’s  Fitness magazine (United Kingdom and Ireland) with other leading fitness professionals as part of a feature called “World Fitness Elite.” In the Women’s Fitness feature, Marissa Herring and other leading experts were asked to give their “Top Tips To Look and Feel Great Today!”

Here is what Marissa had to share with the readers of Women’s Fitness:

“I believe in training using diverse styles & keeping sessions exciting. I incorporate ‘Train like a gymnast’ techniques, to maintain mobility and flexibility, which use your bodyweight. Marissa, a Miami native, began her training as a competitive gymnast at an early age. She transitioned into high school cheerleading, at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and became an
NCA All-American cheerleader and National Partner Stunt Champion. In 1992, she continued her collegiate cheerleading at Florida State University (FSU), where she was a member of the FSU varsity squad that travel, cheered and competed at national levels. In 1994, Marissa joined Florida International University (FIU) varsity cheerleading who were ranked fifth among the national university cheerleading squads and partner stunt champions.

In 2007, after having her 2nd child, Marissa trained and competed at The Women’s Tri-Fitness
World Challenge. The competition features four events: Obstacle Course, Fitness Routine,
Fitness Skills (box jumps, bench press, shuttle run), and Grace & Physique. Marissa placed 1st
in the Fitness routine and finished in the top ten in all the other events. She is an IFPA Certified
Personal Trainer, Women’s Fitness Specialist and has developed healthy nutritious recipes to help her clients and their children succeed on their fitness journey.

In 2009 Marissa opened garage mama fitness, from her Miami garage where she trained family
and friends. In 2011 Marissa and husband Kim Herring, a NFL Super bowl Champ, combined
their knowledge and experience to open Garage Mama fitness & Trinity Sports Performance
Gym in a 6700 square feet state of the art fitness facility. By 2013, Marissa, now a fit mother of
3 returned to the tri-fitness challenge and placed 1st in her age group and 2nd all around among
133 athletes. In the 2014 tri-fitness challenge she once again won 1st place in her age group and 2nd all around.

Her successful training regimen consists of a variety of fitness methods, including gymnastics,
Pilates, plyometric, and strength and resistance training, while also providing nutritional
support for her clients varied and sometimes hectic schedules. Marissa works with her clients to
determine the right training strategy and techniques to accomplish their goals and attain the long
term results they want. She is honest, supportive, enthusiastic and a powerful motivator dedicated to her clients well being.
