Minister Laufer Harry-Ilan, Ex-Secretary of Trade for Romania and Coordinator of Smart Start USA will bring the largest delegation of small to medium sized (SMB) Romanian businesses to Miami next week.

The Smart Start USA program contributes to the real and concrete development of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United States by supporting the development of the priority economic sectors for Romanian exports and the consolidation of the Romanian-American trade relations.

Bucharest, Romania March 12, 2019: On March 20-21st in Miami, The Romanian-American Chamber of Commerce (RACCTM) in Miami, Smart Start USA, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) and Miami-Dade County Office of Economic Development & International Trade are hosting a special event featuring Romanian businesses from IT, logistics, real estate, manufacturing, textile and food industries.

“Smart Start USA – Effective Financing Solutions for the Internationalization of Romanian Business” conference will take place at the headquarters of The Romanian-American Chamber of Commerce in Miami Florida On March 20-21, 2019.

Romanian entrepreneurs have the opportunity to enter a new dialogue session with representatives of the local American administration and the business community in Florida.

They will also have the opportunity to discover both the concrete business opportunities and the real economic and legislative peculiarities of the American market, little known by the Romanian business class.

About Laufer Harry-Ilan

Laufer Harry-Ilan was the youngest Minister of Trade, Business Environment and Entrepreneurship in the history of the European Union and also one of the most preeminent Ministers in his field. He has been the initiator and coordinator for Bills, national governmental programs and regulatory documents, as well as legislative regulations in the field of SMEs dedicated to improving the business environment, such as: The Law of Prevention, The Law of Public-Private Partnership, Lobby Law, Start-Up Nation Romania. In 2017 alone, 10,000 Startups were financed creating over 20,000 new jobs becoming the largest program for Startups in the EU.

With over 1000 retail leasing deals signed in less than 10 years, he was GM & Head of Leasing for more than 10 Malls & Commercial Centers.

He is the man behind H&M’s and other international brands’ entrance to the Romanian market and he strongly contributed to the expansion of Inditex Group (ZARA).

In the past 10 years, he has been very active as an economic and political analyst, publisher, as well as being one of the major figures on TV in this domain. Laufer is also a renowned speaker, with a remarkable performance achieved for Romania on the international stage. He has been invited as a speaker for several international events such as: Select USA, Trade Winds, CM11 WTO, European Commission and other international organizations.

As Minister of Business environment, commerce and trade, international speaker and young entrepreneur, Harry-Ilan has a vast network of top governmental and business contacts in more than 100 countries, and had the honour to be received by Prime Ministers, Ministers, State Secretaries, GMs and CEOs of the largest companies in the world. In appreciation for his contributions to the development of the US/Romania strategic partnership and achieving in 2017 a new historical record in terms of bilateral trade, Minister Laufer was invited to Washington D.C. by Wilbur Ross, United States Secretary of Commerce, to discuss further strengthening economic partnerships.
