ATLANTA, GA, June 08, 2019: Founder and Owner of Oculus Plastic Surgery and Specialty Surgery Center, Harvey “Chip” Cole, III, MD, FACS posted a new blog on the Oculus website entitled, “In Honor Of Men: The Husbands, Fathers, Brothers, Boyfriends, Sons,” in which Dr. Cole offers statistics and encouragement. 

Dr. Cole writes, “It’s a new age for men who want to take care of themselves and look good for as long as possible.” He continues,  “And during this month of June in which we celebrate the fathers and all the men in our lives, I’m going to shed more light on the value of plastic surgery and other non-surgical procedures that more and more men are taking advantage of and enjoying.”

“First of all,” writes Dr. Cole, “it’s no secret that we live in a very visual age. Men are becoming more and more aware of the impact their visual appearance has as they go out to look for new clients, a new position or a new mate.” He elaborates, “Many Baby Boomers are staying in the work force longer and they want to look and feel their confident best when they walk into a room of 25-to-30-year-olds. And the men in the millennial generation have been paving the way making it more and more comfortable for men of every age to seek out physical improvements as women do.”

Dr. Cole states, “Statistics prove how true this is.” He continues, “According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, there were more than 200,000 surgical procedures performed on men in 2018. Rhinoplasty was the most popular with more than 52,000 procedures performed. Second to nose reshaping was eyelid surgery, followed by liposuction (up 5 percent).”
