ATLANTA, GA, July 25, 2019: Founder and Owner of Oculus Plastic Surgery and Specialty Surgery Center, Harvey “Chip” Cole, III, MD, FACS posted a new blog on the Oculus website entitled, “Hot Or Not Drink Water Nonstop,” in which Dr. Cole establishes its importance not only to beautiful skin but overall health.

“We are in the midst of summer and there’s no question that it’s hot,” writes Dr. Cole. He continues adding, “Since the skin is the largest organ of the human body, and the human body is mostly water, we need to stay hydrated. We’ve all been told dozens if not hundreds of times to drink 6 – 8 glasses of water a day.” He ups that number saying, “Well, I’m going to say that you simply must drink even more water. I drink water constantly throughout the day.”

According to Dr. Cole, “If you have any surgical procedures scheduled, you’ll want your water ratio to be balanced.” He talks about the various body parts saying that, “Considering that the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, the lungs are about 83% water, the skin 64%, muscles and kidneys are 79% and the bones are a watery 31%, you simply must make drinking plenty of water a daily, consistent habit.”

“Generally speaking,” says Dr. Cole, “men need more water than women — just over 3 quarts of water per day for men. Women need a little more than 2 quarts.”
