Founder and Executive Director of Medicine Horse Ranch, Alyssa Aubrey reveals that horses, and some rare humans live ‘in the moment’ and suggests that humans can learn how to be more in the moment and in integrity by spending time around horses in an Equine Facilitated Learning environment.

TOMALES, CA – May 14, 2018 – Alyssa Aubrey, Founder of Medicine Horse Ranch and co-author of the best-selling book, The Road To Success, recently posted a new blog on her website entitled, “Spend Time Around Horses To See Integrity In Action.” Ms. Aubrey suggests that being present ‘in the moment’ is a requirement of integrity.

Aubrey asks her readers, “How aware are you at any given moment? Are you aware of being aware?” “If you are,” she says, “then you may be one of the rare humans who live ‘in the moment.’ Being ‘in the moment’ with people and actively listening is a key leadership skill.”

According to Aubrey, “If you are not sure whether or not you are aware, chances are you’re not.” She continues adding, “If you are in a leadership position, you may wonder why your team is not responsive or is consistently performing subpar.”

“Working with horses in an Equine Facilitated Learning environment,” Aubrey writes, “can help you become aware of the inconsistency of your thoughts and behaviors. Horses always live in the moment.” According to Aubrey, “They have to. They are prey animals and are continually aware of what’s going on in their environment.  They don’t post-rationalize situations and because they don’t distinguish their emotions from their behavior, you can tell exactly how they are feeling at any given moment.” “This” says Aubrey, “allows horses, through facilitators, to provide instant feedback to human behaviors and emotions.”

Aubrey points out that, “To horses, consistency of feeling and behavior is the same as integrity. This kind of consistency is how trust is built in the world of humans too.”
