Three University of Florida Alumni Earn Emmy Nominations For Inspirational Short Film, Jacob’s Turn

Orlando, Fla. – July 18, 2011 University of Florida Alumni, Lindsay Dicks, Nick Nanton, Esq. and JW Dicks, Esq., were recently honored to receive an Emmy® Award nomination for their passionate work as Executive Producers on the inspirational short film documentary, “Jacob’s Turn.”

Lindsay Dicks is CEO of CelebritySites™, an online marketing agency in Orlando while Nick Nanton, Esq. and JW Dicks, Esq., are the Founders of The Dicks and Nanton Celebrity Branding Agency®, a Personal Branding Media, Marketing and PR firm based in Orlando, Florida.  Lindsay graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration with a concentration in Marketing (Class of 2005.) Nick Nanton, Esq. holds a JD from the University of Florida Levin College of Law (Class of 2004,) as well as a BSBA in Finance from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business (Class of 2001.)  JW Dicks, Esq. graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications (Class of 1971.)

Jacob’s Turn is a mother’s story of Jacob Titus, her four-year-old boy from the small rural community of Floyds Knobs, Indiana.  Jacob loves to play T-ball, like thousands of kids across the country. Jacob also happens to have Down Syndrome.  The film shows how Jacob’s “turn” at bat and on the field was a thrill for him, but more importantly, an event that transformed the hearts of everyone in his town. The script for the short film is based on Patricia Titus’ essay she wrote and submitted to the local newspaper.

The film was based out of, and produced in, the Ohio Valley region where the film was submitted for Emmy nomination.  “Jacob’s Turn” received a nomination in the Human Interest – News category (with Dicks, Dicks and Nanton Executive Producing.)  In addition, Co-directors Nick Nanton and Amardeep Kaleka received a nomination in the Director – Short Form category. The Emmy® Ceremony will be held July 30, 2011.

As Executive Producers, Nick, JW and Lindsay worked with his extended network of marketing experts to create awareness of “Jacob’s Turn,” through a method of marketing that is usually applied to commercial ventures, but for the first time was used to launch a charitable campaign – one which will help benefit children not only with Down Syndrome but a wide variety of special needs. The goal of everyone with an emotional and financial investment in the film is to raise people’s awareness and generate charitable donations that will help these kids receive the assistance they need to lead the best lives they can—to get their “turn.”

The film was produced with the help of Marketers For Good (MFG). Drawing upon the expertise of the top international marketing minds of our time, MFG is a not for profit organization dedicated to creating unique launch campaigns to raise money and awareness for charitable causes. Orlando, Fla. – July 13, 2011Lindsay Dicks, CEO of CelebritySites™, an online marketing agency in Orlando, along with her father JW Dicks, Esq., Founder of The Dicks and Nanton Celebrity Branding Agency®, a Personal Branding Media, Marketing and PR firm, were recently honored to receive an Emmy® Award nomination for their passionate work as Executive Producers on the inspirational short film documentary, “Jacob’s Turn.”

Jacob’s Turn is a mother’s story of Jacob Titus, her four-year-old boy from the small rural community of Floyds Knobs, Indiana.  Jacob loves to play T-ball, like thousands of kids across the country. Jacob also happens to have Down Syndrome.  The film shows how Jacob’s “turn” at bat and on the field was a thrill for him, but more importantly, an event that transformed the hearts of everyone in his town. The script for the short film is based on Patricia Titus’ essay she wrote and submitted to the local newspaper.

The film was based out of, and produced in, the Ohio Valley region where the film was submitted for Emmy nomination.  “Jacob’s Turn” received a nomination in the Human Interest – News category (with JW and Lindsay Dicks as Executive Producers.)  In addition, Co-directors Nick Nanton and Amardeep Kaleka received a nomination in the Director – Short Form category. The Emmy® Ceremony will be held July 30, 2011.

As Executive Producers, Lindsay Dicks and JW Dicks, Esq. worked with his extended network of marketing experts to create awareness of “Jacob’s Turn,” through a method of marketing that is usually applied to commercial ventures, but for the first time was used to launch a charitable campaign – one which will help benefit children not only with Down Syndrome but a wide variety of special needs.
