About Dan Menden

Dan Menden is an international speaker, best-selling author, trainer and consultant with over 20 years of success in helping organizations improve their performance.  Having started his professional career as a high school then university level teacher, Dan eventually found his way into employee training and development at Harley-Davidson Motor Company.  He started at Harley-Davidson as a shop floor supervisor and that shop floor experience has never been forgotten as Dan always seeks practical, effective solutions to organizational performance problems.

While at Harley-Davidson, Dan was responsible for transforming Harley-Davidson University (HDU) dealer training into a matrixed global training organization that developed and delivered training to the 1400+ Harley-Davidson dealerships around the world.  While Director of Dealer training, HDU deployed the biggest training initiative in Motor Company history as it delivered Harley-Davidson Customer Experience (HDCX) training to over 98% of the worldwide dealership network.  The HDCX training initiative spearheaded the company’s efforts to deliver excellent customer experiences across all of its dealerships. Dan also spent time working as a Performance Consultant for the dealer network and directly supported the Performance Group process which helped hone a deep knowledge of dealership operations and financials.

Having retired from Harley-Davidson after 26 years, Dan is now the Managing Director of Mensch Learning Solutions which is focused on helping its clients improve their performance through learning.  In addition to his real world global training experience, Dan is a certified Jack Canfield Success Principles Trainer and a Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM). Because of his background and experience, Dan is also an instructor for the CPTM program where he helps grow and develop other training professionals from a wide variety of industries from around the world.  Dan has a B.S. Technology Education degree and a M.S. Management Technology degree both from the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he also taught as an instructor.
