Sandy Olson, Speaker and Owner of Pathway to Success, a motivational company wonders what the world would be like if no one believed in failure and instead believed in feedback.

Frederick, MD – July 12, 2017 – Sandy Olson, owner and speaker with Pathway to Success, a motivation company, recently published an article on her website titled “Instead of Thinking Failure, Think Feedback.” Ms. Olson proposes doing away with the word ‘failure’ in latest article.

Olson poses the question, “What would happen if you never believed in the idea of failure? She queries, “What would your life be like if you only believed in feedback instead?”

Olson states, “So often, people fear failure. They believe it means something about who they are.” She continues adding, “They see failure as a conclusion, an end point with a negative stigma.”

“Wouldn’t it be lovely to eliminate the word ‘failure’ from the vocabulary?” Olson asks. She adds, “I am all for that! I mean, really, when a child is learning to walk and they fall over and over again, no one thinks the child is a failure. They encourage the child to try again because the truth is that practice makes perfect.”

According to Olson, “The idea of failure has caused so much unnecessary fear and stress.” She elaborates, “Our competitive culture tends to cultivate this behavior. It’s a ‘me-versus-you’, and ‘I win, you lose’ world we have become accustomed to. But, it simply doesn’t have to be that way.”

“The notion of feedback instead of failure,” writes Olson, “breeds a culture of successive lessons. Each lesson is an opportunity to see what we’ve done and how we can improve the next time.” She states, “When you embrace the lessons and keep improving you amplify your greatness.”
