Dr. William P. Caldon, D.M.D., co-owner of Plattsburgh’s High Peaks Dental, busts the three biggest myths about dental insurance and encourages patients to educate themselves on the finer points of medical and dental insurance plans.
Plattsburgh, NY — Dec. 7, 2015 — Renowned Plattsburgh dentist Dr. William Caldon published a new blog post entitled “Don’t Believe These Dental Insurance Myths.” In the post, he reveals the three most common misconceptions about dental insurance—that you need it to see the dentist, that dental is covered by medical insurance, and that dental insurance covers all procedure costs—and states that the key is choosing the best option for you, insurance or no.
Says Caldon, “Unless you work in the health insurance industry, dental insurance is probably not on your mind too often—but it should be. Knowing the costs, benefits, and limitations of your dental insurance policy is integral to receiving the regular, high-quality dental care you deserve. And because your oral health is directly linked to your overall well-being, it’s every bit as important to understand dental insurance as it is to understand your health insurance.
Dr. Caldon has been a co-owner of High Peaks Dental since 1996 after serving in the
United States Air Force for 20 years and retiring as a Colonel. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Louisville and his Bachelor’s from Thomas More College. In 2013, USA Today featured Caldon as one of America’s Premier Dentists.
