Nilo Hernandez, Jr., DDS, DICOI, best-selling co-author of the book, The Will To Win, with Brian Tracy, and owner of the Smilecreator of Naples, writes about how a holistic approach to dentistry helps the whole body heal more naturally.

Naples, FL, Aug 13, 2019: Owner and CEO of Smilecreator of Naples, Dr. Nilo Hernandez, Jr., DDS, has posted a new article on his website entitled, “What’s Going On In Your Mouth Affects Your Whole Body,” in which Dr. Hernandez elaborates on the philosophy of holistic dentistry.

Dr. Nilo Hernandez“We are living in an age where science and technology offer us unprecedented access to information,” writes Dr. Hernandez. He continues adding, “Our human curiosity has led us to delve into the science of the human body in search of the most advanced methods to preserve our health. Over time it has been discovered that a healthy diet and exercise is a tried and true method toward overall good health. However, what exactly is a ‘healthy diet’?”

As Dr. Hernandez points out, “There are diets that propose they are the ‘answer’ to all health problems that are diametrically opposite each other.” He expounds, “There’s the high-protein diet, the South Beach Diet, the Mediterranean Diet, the Paleo Diet, the fat diet. There are vegetarians and vegans and bone broth enthusiasts, there are those who restrict their flesh eating to fish and call themselves pescatarians. And there are those who only breathe and feel that they get all the nourishment necessary from the air that they breathe.” He asks, “See what I mean?” He concludes, “A “healthy diet” means different things to different people.”

“As a Holistic Dentist,” says Dr. Hernandez, “I may suggest a change of diet that you may or may not choose to follow. But of this I can assure you that whatever goes into your mouth can affect your entire body.” Dr. Hernandez states, “In fact, in my dental practice we employ and follow the BaleDoneen Method to incorporate the study and prevention of the link between heart disease, strokes and gum disease. Many silent underlying diseases of the mouth like old failing root canals have been proven to contribute to elevated chances of having a severe stroke or heart disease. Cardio vascular incidents are preventable with proper care and attention to these underlying culprits.”

According to Dr. Hernandez, “Holistic Dentistry is nothing more than providing the proper conditions for the body to help heal itself better and faster. Holistic dentistry’s focus includes not introducing unnecessary chemicals or substances into the body that may harm tissues, organs or our own ability to heal.”
