High blood pressure a can be a problem for many people, but it can be job-threatening for DOT truck drivers. DOT drivers must pass the DOT physical initially, and then every two years, in order to get and maintain their commercial license.  Uncontrolled high blood pressure can pose a threat to that DOT medical certification or medical card renewal.
