PRESS: Preparing for the DOT Physical

Orlando DOT Physical Provider and Workflow Employer Services Owner Dr. Brad Levine Publishes New Article About Preparing for the DOT Physical

Dr. Brad Levine, Orlando Chiropractor and owner at Workflow Employer Services releases new article explaining how a commercial driver can prepare for the DOT physical exam.

Altamonte Springs, FL — November 30, 2016 — Workflow Employer Services owner and Orlando area chiropractor Dr. Brad Levine recently published a new article on his website “DOT Physical Preparation – How to Prepare for the DOT Physical Exam.”

In the article, Dr. Levine covers things such as his background and credentials, things you need to get ready and bring to the exam, and specific areas covered by the physical. Then, he adds additional detail for each of those areas.

Next, Dr. Levine explains when and why you would need to bring additional documentation to your appointment. Some of the specific medical conditions he covers in terms of preparing for the DOT physical are diabetes, high blood pressure, a past heart condition, mental illness, sleep issues, and taking certain medications.

Dr. Levine also cautions: “Furthermore, it doesn’t pay to withhold this information to try and pass the exam. Doing so just creates many additional hurdles when the illness(es) is/are discovered. These are obstacles that can significantly delay your CDL medical certification. Thus, it’s better to just go ahead and get the required documentation and bring it with you when you come.”

Additionally, he discusses “white coat syndrome” – when the blood pressure inflates superficially when visiting the doctor. First, he tells the driver to try to calm the nerves because the exam is relatively simple. However, other more tangible ways to control artificially high blood pressure include cutting back on caffeine and smoking before the exam. Also, cutting back on sodium helps.
