Real Estate Expert Jennifer Myers Helps Realtors Sell Homes More Quickly During the Holidays

Jennifer Myers, Broker and Owner of Dwell Residential Brokerage, DC’s most unique real estate brokerage, recently appeared on the “Money For Lunch” radio show to explain how real estate agents can get their listings sold quickly during the holiday season.

Jennifer said that agents should urge their home sellers to list their properties during the holidays instead of the conventional wisdom of taking homes off the market during these times. “This is a great opportunity to get in touch with your seller clients and let them know that now is a good time to be selling.  There are buyers out there!” remarked Myers. “This is a great way for them to get their homes sold before the end of the year, have a tax benefit for the current year and avoid all of the Spring listing competition.”

Bert and Jennifer also spoke about Jennifer’s innovative philosophy about selling real estate. Jennifer places strong emphasis on selling a home’s “story” and the lifestyle that accompanies a particular home, rather than just the typical real estate selling points such as features within the home.

“We ask our seller clients to tell the story of their house themselves – why they picked it, what their life has been like, and why they are moving,” said Jennifer.

One of the ways the Dwell does this is by having the sellers create a video, giving potential buyers a personal tour of their home and neighborhood. “At the end of the day, people buy a house because they believe there will be a certain life change when they live in that house. Who better to explain that than the person who has been living there?”
