Retirement Resources President, Dave Boike Talks About How The Scary Halloween Season Goes Hand-in-Hand With Scary Plunges In The Stock Markets

Retirement Resources President and Investment Advisor, Dave Boike, talks about investors who get spooked during the traditional stock market plunges that seem to be coordinated with Halloween and suggests how to stay even-keeled during the turmoil.

Auburn Hills, MI — October 26, 2018— Dave Boike, President of Retirement Resources and co-author of The Ultimate Success Guide with Brian Tracy published a new blog post on the company website entitled, It’s Spooky October And, Of Course Stocks Are Falling, in which Mr. Boike offers free stress tests along with portfolio evaluations.

Boike writes, “Kids and kids at heart look forward to Halloween and getting scared out of their wits.” He adds, “That’s just fun and games. But October is also typically a very scary month for investors.”

“So, are you scared yet?” Boike asks, adding, “It’s October, and once again the stock market is taking a plunge.”

According to Boike, “October has been one of the most frightening, horrendous months of the year for the stock market and those who invest in it.” He elaborates, “The first big drop came in 1907, followed by the big crash of 1929 on October 24th. Then there was Black Monday on October 19,1987. Then a mini crash on October 13, 1989. Another in 1997, 2002 and 2007.” Boike points out, “And those are just the October events!”

“This year is no exception!” says Boike. “Earlier this week the Dow Jones fell more than 800 points. That’s the third biggest drop in its history. And yesterday, it plummeted another 500 points.” Again he asks, “Are you scared yet?”
