Richard W Paul: Helping Seniors Descend Safely Off That Mountain Called Retirement

Novi, MI – June 26, 2012 – A steady stream of retirement income makes Richard W. Paul feel secure that seniors, recently out of the work force, are going to be taken care of for the rest of their lives.  That’s where his firm Richard W. Paul & Associates, LLC derives its motto “A Prudent Path To Investing.”  A Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), Rich’s firm helps the client get the best advice, understand what their complex needs are, and know where their money is held.  Bottom line, his firm has only the client’s best interest in mind, and is regarded as a fiduciary level relationship.  Furthermore, Richard Paul was recognized a 5-Star Wealth Manager in Hour Detroit Magazine in 2011.

Rich has been in the business for 25 years, and specializes in working with retirees and people in the “Red Zone,” those about five years before retirement.  Those five years are especially crucial, as one mistake during that time period can be very costly.

There’s nothing like knowing his clients are being taken care of, and their money is safe, Rich said.  The goal is to make sure they have enough money to live comfortably for the rest of their lives.

Rich started his financial planning career with a large Eastern insurance company, but wanted more and decided to become a Certified Financial Planner.  In addition, Rich has since become a Certified Estate Planner, Registered Financial Consultant, and Certified Senior Advisor.  The CEP helps Richard to transition his clients in that final leg of life, where they are making that transfer of wealth to their children or even grandchildren.

The common misconception people have is that their biggest financial transaction in their life will be their home, but it’s really taking their 401k and creating a pension with it.

“That money has to last you the rest of your life,” he said.  “It’s more of return of your money than on your money.”

In addition to a popular, national radio show, “The Financial Safari,” which airs Sundays at 5 p.m. in 28 states, Rich is also releasing a book “The Baby Boomers Retirement Survival Guide,” which focuses on how to construct a portfolio that provides income for life.
