Sales Success Catalyst, Entrepreneur and Author, Mark Tosoni Writes About The Inner and the Outer Game

ARLINGTON, TX– January 20, 2015 – Mark Tosoni, sales success expert, entrepreneur and author recently posted a new blog on his website entitledFrom The Door To The Bank.” It’s an age-old question, “why do some sales reps make the big bucks while so many others struggle to make ends meet.” Mark Tosoni addresses this in his latest blog post.

Tosoni writes, “If you’re a leader how many of your reps are struggling to make the kind of money they would like to make?” He goes on to say, “We know from our numbers that most reps would not need to hit 20 doors before they get in and write a contract. Our top reps hit one or two, get in and sell. Literally they knock on two to 5 doors max. They’re in and they’re out with a deal.”

The reason more reps aren’t writing more deals, says Tosoni, “is two-fold.” He continues, “You see, the alarm business like all games has 2 games. There’s an “inner game” and an “outer game.” The way this works is that the inner drives the outer.” Using an simple metaphor, Tosoni says, “The way this works is that the inner drives the outer. It’s like a car’s engine, which is under the hood. The engine, which you don’t see moves the car. With sales people the mindset is the “inner game.”  It’s not visible to the eye. It’s ” under the hood” so to speak.  The inner game is what moves their actions or their outer game.”

The outer game without the inner game doesn’t work. As Tosoni writes, “For sales reps the key to come to know is that to be in the top 1% of your business you must work on your “skill set  “and your “mindset.”  To work on one without the other explains why more reps are not moving from the door to the bank more often.”
