Ken Reinig, speaker and health club insurance expert highlights risk management steps club owners need to consider before committing to offering childcare services and advising owners to weight pros and cons carefully.

Lakewood, Co: May 23, 2016– Ken Reinig, well-known risk management specialist, posted a new article on his website entitled “Consider the Pros and Cons of Offering Childcare Services in Your Club,” in which Mr. Reinig helps owners put policies and practices in place to lower risk of offering these services.

Reinig states, “Summertime is right around the corner.” He continues adding, “That means school will be out, parents will take time off from work often staying at home instead of going on a vacation. As a consequence, many young children get to be with mommy and/or daddy all day.” He elaborates with the following, “So, when these parents want to go for a workout at the gym, they are sincerely appreciative of having a childcare perk at their health club.”

“The fact is,” says Reinig, “over half of all health clubs, with the exception of circuit training facilities, provide some sort of child sitting services.” He cautions, “If you are considering adding this service to your club or are starting a new club, you do want to be very clear about describing this service to members. And you want to weight the risks versus the rewards prior to making a commitment.”

Reinig elaborates on six areas of concern that should be addressed prior to deciding to offer childcare services. Then, he states, “The primary question club owners must ask before committing to offering childcare is this: Will you get enough “additional” mommy members to make up for the added expense?” He continues adding, “If not, save the money and add a stretching room.” He finalizes saying, “If you decide to offer child sitting, make it the safest, cleanest, and most fun facility in the county.”
