Tax Expert and Advisor Barry G. Fowler, EA, On IRS 2017 Tax Return Acceptance Date

Barry G. Fowler, EA, leading expert in tax resolution issues and CEO of Taxation Solutions writes about an IRS statement regarding the date on which they will be accepting returns for 2017 tax season.

Houston, TX – November 9, 2017 – Barry G. Fowler, CEO of Taxation Solutions, posted a new blog on the company website entitled “IRS Has Not Yet Released Date For Accepting 2017 Tax Returns,” in which Mr. Fowler posits a few thoughts about why the IRS released a statement.

Fowler writes, “Apparently a whole lot of taxpayers are anxious to get their taxes in to the IRS.” He continues adding, “I’ve never seen the IRS issue statements that they haven’t determined the date when they will be accepting tax returns. But they’ve done it this year.”

According to Fowler, “Several reasons could be responsible for this sudden frantic rush.” He poses several including the usual being that taxpayers want to know when they’ll get their refund. In addition, Fowler states, “Maybe taxpayers are intent on getting their returns in as early as possible to avoid having criminals file a return in their name. That would be a wise thing to do since this is what criminals do – they try to get a jump on procrastinating taxpayers.”
