The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm Founder, Victoria L Collier, Guides Adult Children Caring For Super Hero Parents Who Are Facing Old Age And Decline

Estate & Asset Protection Attorney, Victoria Collier recognizes that some parents actually attain super hero status in the eyes of their children and that when they lose their super powers the adult children who care for them must learn how to allow them to complete their elder journey with dignity and respect.

DECATUR, GA, February 7, 2019: Victoria L. Collier, founder of The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm, has posted a new blog on her law firm’s website entitled “Even Super Hero Parents Age And Face Decline,” in which Ms. Collier how tricky it can be for adult children to come off as super heroic caregivers.

Victoria Collier“Let’s face it,” writes Collier, “at one time or another most kids consider their parents to be gods or, at the very least, super heroes.” She continues, “Whether you came into a home with two parents or one, they were always there for you holding you, feeding you, bathing you. As you grew it seemed as if they knew everything.”

Collier states, “Despite how your life with your parents may have evolved, you can be certain that your parents did their best to keep you safe. Every parent does as you will acknowledge if you are a parent now!” She emphasizes, “Parents always do the best they can whether kids realize it or not.”

Collier goes on to pose, “But what if your parents really were super beings?” She adds, “What if they started and grew a successful business or corporation? What if they provided a livelihood for multiple employees? And, what if suddenly they lost the ability to continue making important day-to-day decisions?” And finally, she asks, “What if you had to help them negotiate their way through mental and/or physical decline?”
