Estate & Asset Protection Attorney, Victoria Collier shares a case that is difficult to correct and warns that strange turns of events can happen despite length of marriage, age and appearances of normality.
DECATUR, GA, May 10, 2018: Victoria L. Collier, founder of The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm, has posted a new blog on her law firm’s website entitled “Truth Stranger Than Fiction Proves Need For Asset Protection And Long-Term Care,” in which Ms. Collier encourages couples to establish asset protection plans earlier rather than later.
Collier states, “What I’m getting ready to tell you may read like some strange, fictional tale.” She continues adding, “But, believe me, it is a real case that happened to what could previously only be considered a perfectly ‘normal’ family.”
“The point of sharing this case,” says Collier, “is to drive home the importance of having a solid asset protection plan in place as well as a plan for long-term care. You just never know what turn of events might arise that could put loved ones in danger of becoming destitute.”
Collier sets up the story by establishing the cast of characters which consists of, “A married couple in their 80’s.” She also states, “They’ve been married over 40 years and each has adult children from prior marriages, one of which is disabled.”
