The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm Founder, Victoria L Collier, Suggest Making The Upcoming New Decade More Secure

Estate & Asset Protection Attorney, Victoria Collier encourages readers to take action on plans that have been mere thoughts for far too long. She describes the duress of so many clients who scramble to establish estate planning and asset protection under pressure.

DECATUR, GA, January 27, 2019: Victoria L. Collier, founder of The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm, has posted a new article on her law firm’s website entitled “Create A Clear Vision And Act On It Before The New Decade Is Over.” Ms. Collier discusses the confidence that comes with following through on setting up an estate and asset protection plan.

Victoria CollierCollier writes, “Over the years of my law practice, so many clients have come to me and told me they had been thinking about setting up an estate and asset protection plan sometimes for a decade or more.” She continues, “Unfortunately, most of these people arrive at my door under duress. The duress a result of their not setting up an estate and asset protection plan and their spouse had become ill, incapacitated or had died.” “In some instances,” Collier adds, “it was the adult children of parents who had no plan in place coming to see me when their parents were incapacitated to see if they could rescue whatever assets remained and provide needed care for their parent(s) with whatever assets remained.”

Collier reminds readers that, “This coming year is the beginning of a fresh new decade.” She goes on to say, “What a great time to act on the good intentions you’ve been thinking about for far too long. If you’ve had the thought to meet with an estate and asset protection plan attorney, put that at the very top of your to-do list for 2020. I would say make that a New Year’s Resolution, but we all know that resolutions tend to dissolve around week 3 of the New Year!”

“Instead of making a resolution,” Collier suggest, “make it your business to research and get recommendations for the most reputable attorneys in your area specializing in estate and asset protection. Then, pick up the phone and schedule a consultation with at least 3 of them. “ She states, “You don’t have to work with the first attorney you meet with, but don’t use this as a procrastinating tool either. Set your consultations as close together as possible. Even the same day if you can. Then make your decision and get to work.”

“Imagine the sense of accomplishment and confidence you will feel having done something so important for yourself and your family,” Collier writes. According to Collier, “Knowing that should something happen to you, your assets will go toward your care if necessary and when no longer needed for your care, they will go to your family. Knowing that should anyone file a lawsuit against you, your assets are out of reach and if no one ever files a lawsuit (that’s the way we like it) against you, you’re golden. Your assets will be there to be distributed according to your wishes upon your death.”
