Top Carolinas Orthodontic Professional Kerry White Brown Publishes New Article Revealing How to Break an Addiction to Work

Dr. Kerry White Brown, an esteemed Orthodontist with nearly 20 years’ experience, provides insight into getting rid of an addiction to work

Columbia, South Carolina — July 13, 2017 — Carolina Orthodontist Kerry Brown White recently published a new article, “Break Your Work Addiction.”

The article starts off with Dr. White Brown acknowledging that many people today are relatively “addicted” to work. There are many reasons this happens. For some, work fills a void or emptiness. For others, it feeds their ego when they are good at their job.

Yet, counters Dr. White Brown “While both scenarios are understandable, neither is advisable. While a work addiction may seem to solve a problem – or fill a need – in the short-term, it isn’t a long-term solution. In fact, it usually creates more problems than it solves.”

She then goes on to explain how to identify the signs when you, a friend, or loved one is addicted to work. For example, work begins to stand in the way of time together and the person starts to disengage in other areas of their life as well.

Dr. White Brown then reveals some strategies for breaking work addiction, such as redefining success. In other words, changing where someone who is currently work-addicted finds their worth or gratification.

Other ideas for ending an addiction to work include making the effort to take time away from work, trying to negotiate a flexible schedule, and forcing the “sufferer” to take a vacation.
