Top Carolinas Orthodontic Professional Kerry White Brown Publishes New Article Sharing New Neuroscience Hacks for Stress Relief

Dr. Kerry White Brown, an esteemed Orthodontist with nearly 20 years’ experience, shares recent neuroscience-based stress-relief “hacks.”

Columbia, South Carolina — September 24, 2017 — Carolina Orthodontist Kerry Brown White recently published a new article, “Stress Relief: Neuroscience Hacks for Relieving Stress Fast!”

As Dr. White Brown says in the article opener, stress has become a part of nearly everyone’s daily life more than ever before. Especially moms, she adds, seem to be experiencing rapidly-increasing levels of stress.

Thus, she challenges the readers to consider how they deal with stress—if they do at all. Dr. White Brown states, “Since stress, it appears, is unavoidable, it’s imperative we learn how to deal with it effectively, or it can easily overwhelm even the toughest of us.”

She also refers to a recent publication, “The Willpower Instinct: How Self-Control Works, Why It Matters and What You Can Do to Get More of It,” by Kelly McGonigal. In the work, an American Psychological Association study on stress found most common strategies for dealing with stress to be ineffective. This study also found that stress-eating by women didn’t even temporarily relieve stress. In fact, it only made them feel worse – stimulating feelings of guilt – and thereby, increased stress.

In response to this study, Dr. White Brown says, “Yet, even though this information isn’t exactly encouraging, it does serve to reinforce the idea that we need to find effective techniques for stress-management…fast!”

To this end, Dr. White Brown launches into an explanation of the neuro-chemical stress process. She explains, “Regarding the human body, stress first begins in the brain. Thus, to even start to tackle the huge giant that is stress management, we need to first address stress where it begins—the brain.”

She then gives the definition of neuroscience – also known as neural science – and how it relates to stress and stress management. This leads nicely into the heart of the article—how understanding the relationship between neuroscience and stress allows practitioners to create “hacks” that use those principles to tackle stress and prompt stress relief.
