Top Carolinas Orthodontic Professional Kerry White Brown Releases New Article Discussing How to Improve Emotional Strength

Dr. Kerry White Brown, an esteemed Orthodontist with nearly 20 years’ experience, publishes new piece discussing emotional strength and whether it can be improved.

Columbia, South Carolina — December 16, 2017 — Carolina Orthodontist Kerry White Brown recently published a new article, “Emotional Strength – Can You Make Yours Stronger?” In the article, Dr. White Brown discusses why emotional strength is an important skill in life – how it impacts our actions and decisions and how to improve yours if you need to do so.

Emotional strength is something that is valuable to us throughout life. Especially for busy moms who often feel at the mercy of emotions (their own and others’), having emotional strength can be the difference between a life that runs smoothly and one that feels like a (bad) carnival ride with treacherous and extreme up’s and down’s.

Dr. White Brown adds, “Multiplying the importance of emotional strength is that when we get overly emotional, we often don’t make the best decisions.”

She goes on to elaborate, “Sometimes we might act in extreme ways out of ‘negative’ emotions that get the best of us, such as lashing out in anger or frustration. Other times, we might become too ‘soft’ (being a pushover) because our emotions make us fear strong and standing up for ourselves.”

If you feel like your emotions sometimes get the best of you, Dr. White Brown then gives some questions to ask yourself to determine if you’re feeling and acting from a place of emotional strength or whether you’re behaving at the mercy of your emotions.

The first thing to consider, she explains, is whether your emotions are useful to yourself or others. Specifically, if choosing to act the way you’re feeling doesn’t positively serve or help you or someone else, it’s worth considering a better way to respond.

Dr. White Brown also advises that you should ponder are if your emotions are making you be or behave in a way you find desirable.
