Top Carolinas Orthodontic Professional Kerry White Brown Releases New Article Explaining Why It’s Vital to Look Carefully at With Whom You and Your Children Regularly Spend Time

Dr. Kerry White Brown, an esteemed Orthodontist with nearly 20 years’ experience, looks at reasons for carefully monitoring the people you and your children are around a majority of the time.

Columbia, South Carolina — February 10, 2017 — Carolina Orthodontist Kerry Brown White recently published a new article, “Why Is It Important for You and Your Children to Carefully Choose Those Who You Spend Time with On a Regular Basis?”

Dr. White Brown starts off the article with the common John Kuebler success statement, “Show me your five closest friends and I’ll predict your future.” She states that the reason this statement has become so common in the self-help world is because numerous studies have shown you will begin to adopt numerous behaviors, habits, and characteristics of the people you are around the most in your life.

While this may be great in some cases, in others, it might be disheartening. After all, we all have “that person” in our life most likely. “That person” who you (or your child / children) spend a lot of time with but who you definitely don’t want you (or them) to imitate or reflect?

Even more concerning, she contends, is that our ability to assimilate with – or emulate – those people we are around most often, likely extends far beyond just surface characteristics.

Dr. White Brown elaborates, “It might also relate to intelligence, problem-solving, emotional state—even health and physical fitness For example, an interesting Harvard research study found that if you have a close friend or relative (that you spend time with frequently) who is obese, you are 57% more likely to become obese. If your spouse or partner is obese, you are 37% more likely to become so yourself.”

However, she adds, we are not doomed to this as a negative fate. The important thing is that we just carefully choose those we will let impact our lives and the lives of our children.
