Portland, ME, July 31, 2015: Owner and Founder of The Plastic Surgery Center, Dr. Verne Weisberg posted a new article on his website entitled, “Raising Eyebrows and Plumping Lips with Nonsurgical Treatments.” Eyebrows may be raised in surprise that a respected plastic surgeon would hint at the elimination of any surgical proceedings. However, Weisberg is fully aware that some people will never submit to cosmetic surgery.

Weisberg writes, “Some people are simply not willing to undergo cosmetic surgery. That is completely understandable. This gives the face a brighter, more youthful appearance.”

For the surgery averse, Weisberg assures, “Botox is a painless treatment with immediate results that can last up to 6 months. It is the most popular nonsurgical procedure in the United States. Botox is used to loosen tight vocal chords, eliminate migraine headaches, medically stop perspiration and eliminate muscle spasticity. These uses were in effect long before Botox made it’s way into the world of cosmetic surgery.”

“The second area of the face that begins to show the signs of aging,” writes Weisberg, “is around the mouth.” He adds, “The lips begin to lose their moisture, the skin thins out, the lips lose their fullness and fine lines appear all around the mouth.”

Weisberg proceeds with a recommendation, writing, “Restylane Silk is the most appropriate filler for this area, particularly as signs of aging first appear. Like the use of Botox around the eyes, Restylane Silk treatments around the mouth will prolong the need for surgery.”

According to Weisberg, “Restylane Silk is a lighter form of Restylane. It is a hyaluronic acid product that attracts water to the area where it is injected thus plumping up the wrinkle or line better and more subtly than other hyaluronic fillers. The sense of having dry, chapped lips is eliminated and a subtle fullness is restored without the overdone look that is commonly seen among celebrities.”

Dr. Verne Weisberg is board certified with two surgical specialties. His first board certification is in otolaryngology (ENT), after three years of training at the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Weisberg was then privileged to complete his plastic surgical residency at Yale University, after which he was invited to join the faculty. While a resident at Yale, Dr. Weisberg spent several months at New York University Medical Center and Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital where he studied aesthetic surgery.
