Co-Founder of Red Feather Financial, Dr. Sabrina Scott Gets To The Bottom Of The Fear Many People Have About Annuities And Offers Some Clarity

Dr. Sabrina Scott makes an analogy between shopping for an annuity and shopping for a dog, making the point that there are many different breeds of dogs and many different kinds of annuities and that not every breed or annuity is going to be suited to every lifestyle or need.

DECATUR, GA, May 9, 2019: Dr. Sabrina Scott, co-founder of Red Feather Financial, has posted a new blog on the firm’s website entitled “What Fuels The Fear Of Annuities,” in which Dr. Scott offers her take on what is at the bottom of the fear.

Sabrina ScottDr. Scott writes, “I’ve thought about this long and hard: Why are people afraid of annuities?” “In my experience,” she continues, “I have found that most fears come from a misunderstanding or lack of knowledge. When it comes to annuities, the misinformation is rampant.”

“Here’s what I think is at the root of the fear,” writes Dr. Scott. “Most people don’t understand the purpose of an annuity, and as a result of this, people get sold the wrong kind of annuity (there have been lawsuits because of this).”

According to Dr. Scott, “The truth is that an annuity can be a powerful tool in retirement. The analogy that I like to use is that annuities are like dogs.” She elaborates, “You may be a dog lover, however, dog types range from Chihuahuas to Great Danes and not every dog will be suited to you and your lifestyle. You have to be very careful when deciding what dog will be the right match for you. And, there will be cases when some people will not be served by having a dog at all! Maybe a cat will be more suitable.”

About Dr. Sabrina Scott

Sabrina Scott learned about Veterans Benefits and Medicaid when her parents sought legal services for long-term care. As a result, Dr. Scott became an investment advisor representative who can make recommendations regarding securities and became licensed in insurance as well. She co-founded Red Feather Financial with Victoria Collier to help those who want to have a plan in place in order not to outlive their resources and who do not want to be a burden to their children.
