Nilo A. Hernandez, Jr., DDS, DICOI, Owner of Smilecreator Of Naples Urges Readers To Consider The Heart Health Of All The Women They Love.

Nilo Hernandez, Jr., DDS, DICOI, best-selling co-author of the book, The Will To Win, with Brian Tracy, and owner of the Smilecreator of Naples, talks about how women are more likely to die from heart disease without even knowing that they have it.

Naples, FL, May 31, 2020: Owner and CEO of Smilecreator of Naples, Dr. Nilo Hernandez, Jr., DDS, has posted a new article on his website entitled, “Take This To Heart: Most Women Who Die Of Heart Disease Didn’t Know They Had It.” Dr. Hernandez acknowledges that women tend to put the health and well-being of others above their own.

Dr. Nilo HernandezAs Dr. Hernandez points out, “Historically, heart disease has been recognized as the number one cause of death in men. However,” he adds, “over the years, the myth that cardiovascular disease (CVD) is mainly a problem for men has been reviewed, revised and revamped.”

“The fact is,” writes Dr. Hernandez, “that CVD is the leading killer of both men and women, and actually claiming more female lives than all forms of cancer combined.” He continues, “Even more disconcerting is the fact the “64% of women who die suddenly from a heart attack were previously unaware that they had cardiovascular disease.” And, based on large studies published earlier this year, women are up to three times more likely to die after a heart attack than men are largely due to unequal care and treatment.”

Dr. Hernandez goes so far as to propose that May “could become Women’s Heart Health Month.” He states, “So, even though American Heart Month, which happened in February was overshadowed by a global pandemic, as was Mother’s Day, I would like to suggest turning your attention to heart health – your own or that of your mother and the other women who play important roles in your life. It could be a sister, an aunt or a good friend.” He goes on to add 10 heart health tips for women devised by Dr. Amy Doneen, co-founder of the BaleDoneen Method.
