Personal Injury Attorney, Eva Brindisi Pearlman, Highlights The Dangers of Construction Work.

Utica, NY, April 14, 2015: Personal Injury attorney Eva Brindisi Pearlman, partner at the Law Offices Brindisi, Murad, Brindisi & Pearlman has posted a new blog on the law offices website entitled “Our Construction Workers Deserve Our Protection.” We take so much for granted, rarely giving a thought to how the roads and bridges and buildings we work in came into being. Ms. Pearlman brings this to our attention along with statistics that remind how dangerous the construction industry is.

Pearlman writes, “As one of the largest and most complex industries, construction leads all other sectors in on-the-job and work-related deaths. A large proportion of these construction related deaths occur in New York State.”

Reminders are necessary as Pearlman elaborates, “Construction workers put their lives on the line to build our roads, houses, and workplaces and to repair and maintain our nation’s physical infrastructure. They build new structures, make renovations and put additions onto our homes. They maintain and repair buildings and or engineering projects such as highways or utility systems.”

Pearlman offers sobering statistics from The CDC, National National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), among which are included the top 4 causes of construction worker deaths.

According to Pearlman, “It is our responsibility to protect New York State’s construction workers, who put their lives at risk every day and who are working towards improving New York and making it the great state it is. We must oppose laws that seek to diminish the protection of construction workers and fight for the reform of laws that will offer greater protection.”
