Personal Injury Attorney, Eva Brindisi Pearlman, Urges New Yorkers to Support The Child Protection Act.

Utica, NY, May 12, 2015: Personal Injury attorney Eva Brindisi Pearlman, partner at the Law Offices of Brindisi, Murad, Brindisi & Pearlman has posted a new blog on the law offices website entitled “Support the Child Victims Act and Protect York’s Children By Exposeing Sexual Abusers,” in hopes of urging New York residents to action.

Pearlman does not mince words. She writes, “As residents of New York State, we are living with a silent epidemic that puts our children in danger of becoming victims of sexual abuse every single day.” Numbers have a way of making people pay attention and Pearlman uses them in writing, “The statistics are nothing short of startling. The FBI reports that 1 in 5 of ALL children are sexually abused before age 18. However, only 10% of abuse cases are ever reported as a result of intimidation by the abusers or serious post-traumatic stress experienced by the victims.”

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and, as Pearlman states, “Victims live in fear sometimes for the remainder of their lives while predators, many who are lifelong abusers with as many as 100 victims, remain unidentified.”

Bringing the topic into greater clarity Pearlman asks, “If you think about thousands of unknown sex abusers who prey upon children living all across New York State, in schools, churches, synagogues, youth groups and possibly the family next door, how does that make you feel?” She continues, “To make matters worse, we live among institutions headed by people who criminally cover up for sexual abusers. They even use intimidation techniques to delay victims from seeking legal recourse until the statute of limitations expired.”
