Mr. Jones makes a case for greater alertness during the summer months when there are greater numbers of motorcyclists on the roads.

Jones writes, “Beginning with the gentler spring weather, we start to see more motorcycle enthusiasts on the road. By the time summer arrives with its warm, long days we see them everywhere.” He continues adding, “When the weekends arrive you can count on encountering groups of motorcyclists out for long leisurely rides everywhere.”

Each state has its own rules regarding motorcycles, however as Jones states, “Motorcycle enthusiasts in West Virginia have specific rules and regulations they must adhere to for their own safety and the safety of others. For example, the helmet law is enforced to protect the skull of the motorcyclist. In addition motorcyclists must wear protective shatterproof eyewear.”

Jones is specifically referring to motor vehicles in his blog, stating, “Motorcycles are typically the smallest motor vehicles on the road. At times they are difficult to see.” He emphasizes, “And, in the event of even a small collision with a car or truck, the damage to life and limb is generally speaking, much greater than in a fender bender between two cars.”
